Your Task:

Using the information given in the sheet below create a population timeline of the Moriori people

In 1855 the population had decreased by 1232 from the 1437 that were alive in 1836  

 

 

 

 

 

 

In 1900 there were 12 Moriori left alive on Rekohu, a loss of 15 in just 10 years.

In 1910 there were just 4.

  In 1933, Tommy Solomon, the last full blooded Moriori died.  

 

 

 

 

 In 1862 the population had shrunk to just 101 Moriori

 

 

 

 

In 1904 there were only 6 Moriori left alive on the Chathams

 

 

 

 

 

 

In 1805, there were still about 2000 Moriori alive.

 

For many hundreds of years there were about 2000  Moriori living on Rekohu. Even when Rekohu was “re-discovered” in 1791 there were still this many there.
